I'll have to check it out. After hearing what was done to "Babylon" I didn't go any further on A&E
Does anyone think this (remix)
is an improvement on this (original)?:

I think what happened in the case of "Babylon" is that Roine got a lil' carried away and overpolished it. The drums sound like someone sucked all energy out of them. What was he thinking? The "Drivers Seat" remix is a whole different story!
In all honesty he sucked the warmth right out of the synth tones.

I like the remix because the drums don't sound as muffled.
Seems like we're getting another case of Eddie Jobson-ism, where the guy should be physically prevented from remixing his own material. Sorry, Roine, but replacing that high Moog melody with one an octave lower is about as WTF as it gets.

Decided to go ahead and give The Sum of No Evil remasters another listen. There are places where it doesn't feel as cold anymore, but a lot of it still fits the description I originally had for it. It's like listening to a room that's painted white illuminated by bright lights.
