Mercy Now, The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies

Wow! How did I miss this band in the 90s? I was listening to Mercy Now, a great song that the lead singer Mike Farris covered.

Started reading the comments and found out about this band he was in in the 90s (Screening Cheetah Wheelies) ,and started listening. Some great grooves.

They have a live streaming event coming up July 9th I'm going to check out after listening to their first two albums.

I'm sure some aficionados here have heard of these guys and could expand?

That's a name I haven't heard mentioned much in a long time! I don't know much about them though. Somehow Toad the Wet Sprocket (another funny name) got kind of big but not so much the Screaming Cheetah Wheelies.

Looks like they were pegged as southern rock. Warren Haynes played on one of their songs and they do sound a little bit like gov't mule. Also have toured with the Allman brothers, Skynyrd, and ZZ top, both the guitar players can really bring it from the YouTube's I've watched. Farris the singer went on to sing gospel, which is how I ran into them with the cover of Mary Gauthier's Mercy Now.
