What I heard about that is that Roger Dean wanted the main focus to be on the new logo which is why it's probably his most "plain" album cover.

Somehow that logo ended up on the desks that I was sitting at in high school.

I was not aware that the original vinyl was embossed to resemble an old book. I only have the 90s CD, but the vinyl I was familiar with was pretty standard smooth cardboard.

I've seen the logo sketched on a counter at a department store and in a bathroom stall. But I've also seen King Crimson as graffiti too.

Some of the Stooges shorts are roughly the same length as the title track. I wonder if anybody has tried syncing it up with a Stooges episode the way people play DSOTM along with the Wizard of Oz?

No it was Fairport High School, which is a suburb of Rochester. I didn't move to the Hudson Valley until 2004. Love it here though
