I don't even think this album was out when Peter Banks passed away...

Looks real to me…at least the JA, Squire, and Bruford signatures, can’t speak for the others. Per discogs, this version of the release came out in 2009, so Peter Banks was still around.

You are right about the date. I had pulled up a version online that listed 2018 as the issue date, but that was obviously not the first pressing.

Still, it seems it would have been a lot of work to get all of these five guys to sign the thing, 2009 or later, though not impossible I guess. Maybe Bruford at a book signing? Squire (somehow at a Yes show?). How on earth would you even *find* Peter Banks?

^They probably didn't all sign it at once.

could the signatures just be overlaid on the album cover? They seem to be from the same type of pen.

Indeed, it's probably like my copy of Discipline, which I got signed by Fripp, Belew, Bruford, and Levin at four different venues over a period of years.

I have copy of Close To The Edge signed by all five, bath at I acquired at different times and with different pens over a span of years. It’s a little suspect that they have all used the same sharpie on this one.

It would make sense if the guy always brings a standard black Sharpie to get autographs. And it does look like the Kay & possibly Anderson signatures were done with a pen that was starting to get dry, while the others look clean and black, so even if the same pen, probably signed at different times.

On the other hand, I am always leery of second-hand autographs. Caveat emptor.

^^^ The Anderson and Kaye sigs are the suspicious thing, very likely from the same sharpie at the same time. They've got the same "outline" effect from a drying marker.

But when would any fan have had the opportunity to see those two at the same place and time? I would be willing to bet Anderson and Kaye have never met since the Union/Talk eras. IIRC Kaye didn't even show up for the RRHOF induction.

And, yes, in case you are wondering, things have indeed been pretty slow here at work for the last day or two

Agree. Also I recently read that an astronomically large percentage of sports autographs are fake , well into the 90s percent wise. I would imagine a similar percentage in signed rock memorabilia. Fake is my 2 cents.

Reminds me of the time I was at that giant flea-market in Brimfield, Mass., about 35 years ago. A vendor had a signed, two-volume set of the autobiography of Ulysses S Grant. Funny thing is that Grant died two years before the first publication of the set.

Looking forward to my day in court.
