Heh, me either. And one of the strangest things is that, of the last 8 teams in (the four "first four" games), half of them are playing to be an 11-seed and the other half are playing to be a #16. The whole selection process is a mystery that seems to be designed as much to maximize interest in the tournament as it is to result in the most equitable matchups. "Made for TV", as Owen Meany said.

Happy with what I have to be happy with.
Clemson loses to Morehead State, guess they didn’t even deserve a bye in the NIT
Upset chance: 21%
Could Duke fall victim to upset? The Blue Devils are one of college basketball's hottest teams, having won nine-straight games and 12 of their last 14. They are playing their best basketball of the season at the right time. However, Oral Roberts is a scary team to face. The Golden Eagles went 30-4 and won their last 17 games. They went 0-3 against teams in the field, losing road games at Saint Mary's, Houston and Utah State. The loss to the top-seeded Cougars was the only one in blowout fashion. Max Abmas became a tournament sensation two years ago when the then-15th-seeded Golden Eagles upset No. 2 seed Ohio State. He is still the prolific scorer he was then. The matchup between 7-foot Duke freshman Kyle Filipowski and 7-foot-5 Arkansas transfer Connor Vanover is one this game could come down to.
Sometimes blowouts occur in big games, not always based on talent level. We have seen it before.
Alabama got blown out by Oklahoma this year?
It's early, but it looks like Oral Roberts is going to need a miracle.
Great day of bball yesterday. I was able to watch the end of both major upsets as they happened, and it was amazing. I had hoped that Iowa would overcome the road-game vibe and win against Auburn, but the lesser of their two teams showed up. Still, lots of good games on tap today, including the Iowa women's first-round game, ISU trying to avoid the 5/12 jinx and Drake trying to exploit it. I'll be parked in front of the tv again.

Whew. Singed my scrotal hair on that Xavier game....

16th seed Angie Dickinson is giving 1 seed Purdue quite a tussle.
Wow - that was amazing. I don't even care that Purdue was my choice to win it all. What an effort by FDU. Pretty cool that we had a 16, a 15, and a 13 make it through (and damn near a 14 too with Kennesaw St!) but no 12/5 upset. Never a dull year, that's for sure. More madness awaits...

Kenny Smith made an observation during the Miami - Drake game that potentially explains why there are so many upsets. I feel this applies for the NCSU Wolfpack as well. Not all of the time, but a significant fraction. Kenny Smith hit the nail on the head. Not watching basketball executed offensively as a team, is frustrating. What we are seeing is players not of NBA shooting talent, not playing with strategy and collaboration. In the NBA, 11 second shot clock doesn’t give much time for collaboration, you have to drive up and shoot. That Drake team, played like a team, however at the end of the day, their shooting didn’t beat Miami’s shooting and Miami played more like a team, instead of a bunch of individuals.
Entertaining and crazy first two days. I had Purdue going to the final four, so that is going to hurt me, but overall I am still in the hunt. Currently in the 3 brackets I am in:
4th out of 21
8th out of 30
3rd out of 8

Only three down in my sweet sixteen pics going into the second round, which is quite good for me. I wish I had the balls to pick FAU over Memphis (who I said would beat Pujrdue to make the sweet 16)

Just watched the Iowa women beat Georgia to get to the sweet 16. Georgia played their asses off, but Caitlin Clark pretty much took the game over in the second half. Now I'm hoping that the Michigan St or Indiana men can pull the B1G's collective bacon out of the fire.

^ Sparty was in control most of the first half, and let the Marquette Square Heroes back into it before the break.
