Bringing some friends from Berlin to Münster for the gig. Should be amazing!

that's an impressive amount of Euro dates for a band like this!
It won't happen again anytime soon (if ever!); if you are at all tempted, you should definitely GO!

And the places I know are small and cheap...a leap of faith for the band ..looking forward to "my" Show...it's in the boondocks in Normandy...I will go there with the bike in plsin Winter another lesp of faith...but this is the Calvados Region where they distill the liquid of the same Name...

First concert this year : Maxime Metais(Fr) & Extra Life (US) at La Demeurée /St.Contest near Caen....went there with the bike and had a bit of trouble finding the place...thanx to the pizza food truck Guy who indicated me the last part....nice associative place in an old barn....a bit chilly but after a great homemade soup and some cups of hot spicy red wine just the right mood....good support act, Maxime Metais solo guitar and vocals...reminded à bit John Fahey alternating instrumental passages and vocal parts...great sounding Martin 00....
Short interlude and the headliner Extra Life started....they had already played in Europe 12 years ago and also in Caen hence the connection and quite a good audience attentendance for a chilly Tuesday night in the boondocks...some of the audience members had already seen the concert back then...
Good vibes....as Extra Life master mind Charlie Looker explained the band was to play half old and half new material with a correspondance between each old and new song...I really like their records, but live they take another dimension...Toby Driver fits perfectly and with Caley Monahon Ward alternating between violin, alto and trumpet (creating sometimes loops) the band has a very full and rich sound...Looker alternates between an acoustic and a Danelectro baryton guitar...great concert ...very receptive audience...Looker came back alone for an acoustic solo encore ...nice ride back home mainly downhill under a cold stary night

That was Timba Harris on violin/trumpet; he's subbing for this tour.

There will be two bands opening for Extra Life in Münster with 3rd of Schocktober and ISSMICH (both in Jazz avant style)
Oh, that sounds daunting—I have to catch the midnight train back to Berlin. I hope Extra Life don't play too late.

I was completely unaware of this band, but this thread has prompted me to check out their music (mainly the most recent one,) and I'm liking what I've found. What I've heard strikes me as 70s Symphonic Prog, crossed with Post-Punk a la Teardrop Explodes, crossed with a bit of 80s Goth, a la Fields Of The Nephilim. Very nice. I've ordered the earlier ones. I wonder if I should wait on the latest to see if it gets a CD release?
This complete concert was an amazing find for me who won't be able to go to a show:

Münster gig was amazing, save for the sound guy's struggle with taming feedback on the acoustic guitar and an obnoxious concertgoer who was gesticulating hard enough to distract the musicians, even after being warned by Charlie not to overdo it.
