Screw it, I'm in. The original mix is what sold it for me (I don't have an Atmos setup). I've had the Lamb demos for about 30 years, so those aren't anything new, but hey, as the saying goes: Life is short. Buy the box set. Or something like that.

I wonder if the original mix means the cold start to the album, or the faded-in one we got on the various CD versions?

    That's a good question.
If we get the original mix with the original start, and presumably an improved remaster compared to the 1987 and 1994 ones, which were never considered good enough by audiophiles, along with a full and undoctored Shrine show, it would be close to the ultimate edition it's supposed to be.

At least things are moving in the right direction if this is not the 2007 remix as initially speculated. It would also suggest that Genesis actually listen and learn. Since 2007 they have never acknowledged the criticism about deleting the original mixes.

If Peter Gabriel is overseeing this project, what would make you think he would remove his newly added vocals to the Shrine Mix? No way.

I was excited about this until I see the demos are only via a download link; and the live show is not on the blu-ray (re-recorded vocals aside); no mention if the original slide presentation from the 5.1 DVD will be included. Here's hoping they take a lesson from Alan Parsons and release the blu-ray as a stand-alone someday...

It's about as likely as the band going back and doing a new mix that ignores/negates the 2007 mix. In other words, I agree with you

That IS weird. By contrast I just got the Marillion Strange Engine deluxe and the blu ray has the full album in Atmos, a full live concert video, a feature length documentary, music videos and a series of demos and jams.
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Wait. You are not saying that Genesis’ Team for the last 25 years doesn’t seem to have a clue about what to release and how to market it, are you?

Because if you are, I fully agree!

(I say all of this in good fun, of course)
