When I lived overseas, I had a corded electric FlyMo - made by Black & Decker.

It's a lawnmower without wheels, and "floats" above the grass like a hovercraft. SUPER easy to manipulate, and did a great job!

(Over there, the domestic power is 220 volts, not like the USA's 110.)
    Regards,

    Duncan

My lawnmower turns 62 next month. The bastard still takes more than an hour to get the job done, too.

I've never operated a lawn mower or a chainsaw.

If it wasn't for weeds I wouldn't have a yard.

I allow the weeds to grow freely and do nothing to promote the growth of my lawn.

I actually like dandelions. And so do the bees.

^^ And dandelions are the only weed that's edible.

Five Amigos showed up Monday and weeded / cleaned up the yards and were gone in 3 hours. It would have taken me probably 10 days on my hands / knees.

You gotta watch it tho............some folks show up and pull up Everything! My Bad.....I assumed yard folk knew the difference between weeds & plants.....or small trees for that matter.

I planted a bunch of annuals.

The rabbits that live under the hedge in my front yard are as cute as fuck, but the little shits ate my annuals down to stubs!

I bought more annuals - planted them - and sprayed them with a "rabbit repellent" that stinks like a combination of raw garlic and raw onion.

The rabbits ate some of the new annuals - not all - and the rabbit repellent killed the flowers on the one perennial that had been doing so well.

I bought a 3rd batch of annuals - but this time, researched plants that rabbits don't like. Planted them this weekend and so far, so good, the rabbits haven't been near them.

Now I'm waiting for the fucking deer to pitch up
    Regards,

    Duncan

Deer, especially are a pain. If hungry enough, they'll eat shit they, allegedly, aren't supposed to eat, like the three holly bushes I wasted more than $250 on. As far as flowers go, I have mostly gone to zinnia, which deer don't eat. I do spray my plants with repellant, too. But, yeah, sone flowers, like impatiens, don't like the spray.

Was cutting the lawn Sunday and along the house was a six foot black snake. I caught it and brought it in the house. My middle daughter and husband and daughter were there celebrating her birthday. I have some pictures of myself and grandson holding the snake before we let it go back around the wood pile. It was gentle as baby. I wonder if it recognized me or my voice from catching it over the years.

Funniest thing about gasoline/petrol: it's designed to rapidly vaporize. The tank may have been full or partially full when when you last used it. But since evaporated.
