their song writing was never the same after Neal Morse left the band.
I assume Enchant is done too. Does anyone know?
Yes, I think so. It took several years though. He quit Spock's in what... 2001? And Momentum in 2012 is really the precursor to the NMB. The two previous albums are Sola Scriptura and Testimony 2 so very much religious before then.
And now here we are in 2023, according to an Inner Circle email, God told him to "pause", and you'll notice that he isn't publicly working with any of his bands right now. The only thing he is working on is his Brother Andrew play which I'm not even sure will be a Neal Morse album at all. So I think he may be going in the other direction.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
We regret to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control, Spock's Beard will not be performing at HRH Prog this year, and since the rest of our planned UK / Europe tour hinged on doing that festival, the tour won't be happening either.
We're really sorry we couldn't make this happen, we really wanted to play for you all. Hope to see you all sometime soon!

Not a good development for the band.

So sad. Here's me and Scott Medina (Sonic Perspectives) breaking down the Beard's discography:

I wonder who is in charge of the official SB page. It's awfully strange that such an announcement would be made public and have fans commenting on it before a member of the band even knows about it. It also sucks that they now seemingly can't even tour Europe anymore, which was about the only place they have been able to for quite some time, if I'm not mistaken. It doesn't bode well for the future - for them and plenty of others - but I don't want to be overly doom 'n gloom about it.
