Matt Goodluck - Inner Cosmos on Bandcamp

I'm so pleased to be able to put this out into the wild.
I'm a relative newcomer to writing and playing music and today I released my debut album, Inner Cosmos.

The album is influenced by Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, Cluster, John Carpenter and Vangelis amongst others.
It features some very good friends of mine and Martin Kennedy of All India Radio and Kilbey/Kennedy makes an appearance!

Follow me on Bandcamp to hear Inner Cosmos now at https://mattgoodluck.bandcamp.com/album/inner-cosmos

The album will be on all other streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music from July 28.

Listened on slow commute back home from the Space Station, Tram and bus .

Intelligent debut with great selection of ideas and patches. I will listen again when I need that particular itch scratched.
You could add a gear list to the liner notes. I for one always love to know where the noises are emanating from.
I see you are a Pro Voice . Can I ask why so little Vox on the Album? Simply curious. No criticism intended.

    Anyway fine work

@clivey thanks so much for checking it out and for your kind words. Really appreciate it.

I had in fact thought of including a gear list but it slipped my mind in the rush to put it out. For your interest, I used a Moog Mother 32 and Subharmonicon and a number of classic emulations within the Arturia V suite. Lots of plugins but the most used were those from Valhalla, particularly Supermassive for those massive reverbs.

I'm a professional voiceover artist and singer with Australia's main Pink Floyd tribute show but writing and playing this music was a great opportunity to explore a different side of my creativity and I really enjoyed not having the pressure of singing and just focussing on playing for a change.

    So glad you like it!

Hi everyone, a lot can happen in the space of a few months. I'm really excited to announce that my album has been picked up by a new US based independent label called OtherSide and will be available as a limited edition numbered CD from 16th Feb:

I’m proud to announce that I've been signed by a brand new independent label in the US called OtherSide. I've known Mike at OtherSide for nearly 30 years now and he's a great guy who is super passionate about progressive music, so I'm really excited to be working with him on a physical release of my album ‘Inner Cosmos’. The album will be the first release on the label and will hopefully be out in early January 2024 as a very limited (250 copies), numbered edition in a DVD style package with all new artwork and four postcards featuring artwork from the original release.

Mike Ostrich, who runs OtherSide along with Djam Karet drummer and keyboardist Chuck Oken, Jr., had this to say - "As Matt mentioned, we've known each other for nearly 30 years and while we've never met in person, I've always considered him to be a 'brother from another mother', as it were. When he mentioned that he was releasing a solo album, I was intrigued. I knew he was the vocalist for a fantastic Pink Floyd tribute band...but when he said the album was influenced by berlin-school electronic music? Well, that certainly made me pause. My love of that genre of music is well-known (as is my love of progressive rock), so when I heard ‘Inner Cosmos’ for the first time, I was blown away! I asked Matt if there was going to be a physical release of the album, and when he said no....that put my mind into overdrive. It was THIS ALBUM that made me decide to start OtherSide, and I couldn't think of a more fitting release to start this label with. The album has been remastered by Robert Rich from Matt's original files, so it will sound different to what is on BandCamp - it will sound more sonically intense and will grab a hold of you! I cannot wait to share Matt's album with the world, and hope that all of you will pick this up - once it's gone, the inner cosmos might not be the same again!"

The new version of ‘Inner Cosmos’ will be available once the CD is for sale via BandCamp, so my original version has been removed. Those who have purchased the original album should still have it in their BandCamp playlists; if you have any issues, please contact me directly and I’ll be able to help you out. Thank you for all of your support so far. Please like the Facebook page for OtherSide at www.facebook.com/otherside.audio and be sure to check their official website at www.otherside.audio/ for information as it becomes available! In the meantime, I'm continuing to write new music, which will hopefully see the light of day sometime in 2024!

Matt was interviewed by the Dutch progressive rockmagazine iO Pages for their latest issue, number 190, which contains a special on Tributebands. Matt speaks about Echoes Of Pink Floyd and his solo-album (which was reviewed in iO Pages nr. 187).
