As an early teen when "Give the People...." released, especially when Paranoia got onto the radio - I was hooked.

I then realized I knew more of their back catalogue (e.g. hits) than I thought and was the double hooked.

Happy bday Ray! Thanks for the times bouncing 'round my room!

I know this thread is for Ray but Mick Jagger is 80 YEARS OLD today! And has the body and moves of a 30 year old, to put it in perspective, Mick and Joe Biden are the same age!

I saw the Kinks only once but they were great. I wonder how many on here realize that he pronounces his last name as "Davis" and not as it would phonetically sound. I only found that out maybe 10 years ago I think.

I found that out in the '70s when I heard him say his own name in a radio broadcast from the Soap Opera tour. I only found out when Spencer Davis died that he was also born with the name Davies, and changed the spelling to match the pronunciation.

saw them in Connecticut early seventies. but I was there to see the opener - Cockney Rebel. Big fan of that band and it's angsty drama. suitable for young romantics...

    The Kinks were o.k
