First listen and it's a bit of a different animal. More of a chilled vibe on most tracks than Book I. And more vocals across the album, too. So far...I like it! Good stuff.

It's more toned down for sure. I haven't caught the middle parts yet, but taken notice of the first and last songs. Starting with Kyrie Eleison and finishing with the most uptempo and fun track.
Being a three-part effort, it's probably a good thing that each album aren't overlong.
Book 1: 46:15
Book 2: 39:10
Book 3: 34:21
Total: 119:46
I like to listen to entire albums or concepts in one go, and at two hours it's quite long.
How many of us will be listening to Book II tonight? 😃 LE got my copy to me super-fast as usual. Cant wait to find out what happens next! I wish Froislie was doing a sequel to his solo album next!
^It is quite good. There are fake drums and real grooves. I’m enjoying it.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
Hmmm....preordered the Book II CD&LP together from LE but no shipping notice yet.
Did you guys get CDs or LPs?
Maybe LPs haven't arrived yet? I'll probably get yelled at for combining pre-orders!

Thanks. I think it may be an LP delay.

Definitely digging Book II. I'm glad that it has a different feel overall, from Book I. Ocean Traveler is a great tune, especially, to my ears. And I've never heard this vocalist sound better. You can actually make out what he is singing for the most part, and the emotion is there.
Neil
Oh yeah, I believe I saw that but it didn't really sink in how great that bill is, and how much sense it makes.
Book II should be titled The Chronicles of Father Boredom.................wow, this missed the mark complete, boring, pretentious - hope III comes back strong. Good disc to take a nap to
^ I found it to be not dissimilar from Book I, and I liked Book I so I also like Book II.
Book III has also many of the ideas encountered in I & II. Such a gargantuan piece of work, no matter how pleasurable it might sound upon first listen, cannot hold repeated revisits without the notion of boredom sneaking in. I think that they should better have made a very strong double LP instead.
I had that feeling with Neal Morses Similitude of A Dream. I like the idea of an overture introducing themes and sounds that will be used in an album, but if they are repeated too much, it feels bloated and unnecessarily long.
Well see (or hear) when Book III is out.
