Everyone says Allan was such a nice guy but it seemed he always wanted to do things his own way which was often to his own detriment. Despite people like EVH trying to help him it seems he was never able to capitalise on his talent to produce any commercial success. He was famous the world over and yet I believe he died broke? Is that a fair assessment?

I've read both Bruford and Gary Husband commenting on the more difficult aspects of working with him.

Correct. The image showing The Venue is the one from the box, which caused some confusion first.

Personally I don't see this as a contradiction. You can be nice and still have a strong opinion on your own work. I've met Allan a few times and yes, he was a nice fellow, but I'm sure he wasn't easy when things came on artistic ground. I guess that goes for almost every genius!

I remember reading some interviews with Allan & Chad Wackerman regarding some effects added to Allan’s solos on Chad’s album The View. Allan was majorly pissed, Chad said it was some guy mixing the album who added the effects. Allan said Chad was at fault since it was his album.
    Overall, no love lost.
