Thanks, preordered! Greg, Laser’s Edge has it for the same price, maybe the shipping is lower?
I saw them play in a small theatre in Milton Keynes (UK) this week.
Probably the best gig I've ever been to. Alberto is an excellent frontman and also plays guitar and keys, plus a go on drums (Telling the Bees, a tribute to David Longdon).
The playing and energy was stunning, and the band looked to be thoroughly enjoying themselves.
I've never seen a band where members swapped and changed on so many instruments - four doing keyboards, five on guitars, two on drums, a violin player, a trumpet player.
It was just incredible.
And they played most of the new album, which I love.
Just back to my hotel room after two nights in The Netherlands watching an impeccable BBT knock it out of the park. Just four songs were played on both nights, and they were four killer songs at that. I concur with everything posted above, they are on fire as a live unit, improving show by show. To a man (and one lady) they are a joy to meet and chat with, it’s a true family atmosphere, and I’m so glad I made the effort to travel overseas to catch this magical weekend.
^ Why only four songs each night? How long were the shows? Maybe it was four epics...
I think he meant that the two setlists only had 4 songs in common? Might be wrong though.
Yes that was my intended message, it was late and I didn’t explain it clearly!
The first night was the tour setlist promoting the new album which is awesome live, the second night was a deeper dive into the BBT history books, and so we had 4 hours of BBT music over two nights. Each night they were also supported by a BBT member, with Nick playing solo cuts, a couple of Kevin Gilbert songs, two from Spocks Beard, including a fabulous June with his Alberto accompanying on keys and vocals. Last night Clare played some jigs and reels on the violin and sang some beautiful folk songs, accompanying herself on guitar, but with Paul the travelling trumpeter and Ricardian assisting in parts.
Just has a quick tally up on setlist.fm... 19 different songs performed by BBT over the two nights, one of which dated way back to Bard, others from the beautiful English Electric but understandably a high representation from the excellent latest album. The back catalogue is pretty extensive now, but I would say they did very well to please as many sections of the fanbase as is realistically possible.
If you can attend both nights of a two-night BBT gig, do. Just as here in the US last March, the second nights offer substantially different setlists. Here, they weren't yet doing more than a couple of songs from the new album, so the deep dive was even deeper (but not quite to the extent of "Bard").
"I have not yet begun to procrastinate."
Bard has long been a point of contention, but it is being re-released next year, and so may be back into the mix a little more often.
I just booked a ticket to catch the final show of the tour this weekend in London, as I think it will be at least another year before we get a chance too see them again, as I can't manage to get to see the cruise.
The 2 shows last March in NJ were outstanding. I would have like the full brass, but they were really great shows.

I'm going on Saturday too Chris, want to meet for a catch up?
Hey Tommo, long time since we heard from you, I hope all is well mate. I looked for you at the recent Yes gig at Cliffs, I expected to bump into you there. It is an early start on Saturday, stage times are 6:30-9:30. I'm meeting a couple of mates for a quick bite to eat first, and plan to be in Cadogan Hall soon after 6:00. I'll look out for you there, or after the show as I should have a little time before the train home. I'm sat in the gallery as there were not any stalls seats left.
Not so bad fella, thanks for asking. I missed the Yes gig - first tour I've haven't seen them seen 1980!! I'd just got back from the Bearded Theory Festival and was, quite frankly, knackered - the years are catching up with me
I'm in the stalls so I'll keep an eye out for you before or during the interval - still bald, but now have a long grey beard, so much like evetybody else.
I suspect I know who those chaps are and have had a curry in Brick Lane with you all once upon a time.
Gosh I thought that was universal! Gallery = Balcony, as in Minstrel In The Gallery .... Stalls = Floor
Thought so, just checking!
Absolutely fabulous show last night in a great venue.
Brilliant to catch up with you to Chris (albeit briefly).
We definitely need to do it again without such a big gap.
It was awesome as ever Tommo, great to catch up, it’s been way too long, but I’ll make sure I see you at a gig before too long.
