The clearly better team won. They Yankees didn't even deserve to be there. It's only fitting that their manager lost them game 1 and their boneheaded fielding lost them game 5. Not to take anything away from the Dodgers. It does suck that it's the Dodgers, but it is what it is. I'm not sure they could have beat any of the NL teams.
The worst part is that winning the AL Pennant all but ensures Boone's contract renewal.
The silver lining is that they still did better than the Red Sox, which is always the low bar for me.
They have a lot of decisions to make in the off-season, especially resigning Soto. They also need a batting coach and a 3B coach, IMO. Blake is the only one worth keeping.

In the top of the 5th, why were there 5 unearned runs? Betts and Freeman both had hits and scored as a result of other hits. Is it that there should have been 3 outs when those runs scored because of the 2 errors in the inning?
Yes. Plus Cole/Rizzo had a brain fart on a ground ball to first that could have been the third out that was not technically an error. It was a team effort. Cole was cruising with a no-hitter entering that inning.
But this series ended with Boone's game 1 blunder.

I had to run out to get a bite to eat during the 4th inning. I chose this local eatery, Chompie's, as I wanted a hot beef brisket simmered in beef jus. About 15 people seated -- mainly older than 55 crowd, they sat us in a booth with a TV hanging above. Then, I remembered what Chompie's was about...
The place is decorated with New York imagery.Chompie's is a family-owned, full-service restaurant, New York style deli, bakery, famous bagels, and catering service since 1979.
Yeah, everyone in the place was glued to the tv screens. All Yankees fans there. That 5th inning tasted great!! There was an older Dodgers fan and his wife whooping it up and hollering! It was an unexpected World Series memory that I will have forever. Returned home with a full belly to watch the rest of history being made.
Not that it tarnished LA's victory, but I'm guessing they would have preferred a different route to their win. I would definitely have preferred that they celebrate on their own field.

For me, it was perfect that the final game gave Yankees (and some of their fans) hope that they could pull something off, then witnessing the Dodgers celebrating their championship in the middle of Yankee Stadium. Perfect, I tell ya. The Dodgers have their hometown parade on Friday to celebrate with the fans.
