    100% predictable response.

The Guards are off to a good start, but I suspect the loss of Shane Bieber for the season will put pressure on their approach that they won't be able to compensate for.

I watched parts of the games, but not much. There's no need to, since we'll get a daily report right here.

Jordan Montgomery fired Scott Boras after his terrible off-season and shitty contract, which, apparently, isn't even guaranteed.

O's blow out Red Sox in tenth with six runs, but I still think putting a man on second sucks. They may have won or could have lost in fifteen.

    It's just as well.
The Sox bullpen would have put a guy on second anyway.

Man, look at those 12-3 Yankees atop the AL East and beating up some of the best teams out there. I'm not crazy enough to think they will sustain this, but they are doing it without their ace and some of their best hitters not even finding their groove yet.

    What were those predictions again?

I'll spare you the daily recaps.

The Jays are 8-8 and in last place in the AL East. If they were in the AL West, they would be in first.

I just heard an interest but unsurprising stat today. Last year, only five pitchers threw more than 200 innings.

Congratulations to John Sterling who just retired after 65 years in broadcasting.

Interesting start to the season. Houston in last place in the weakest division where the 12-11 Rangers hold first place. That's not much weaker that the NL West where the Dodgers are in front at 13-11.

The Pale Hose are on a 23-win pace.

Pirates came back to Earth with a 2-8 run.

And poor Mike Trout has 8 dingers and 11 RBIs.

Hunter Wendelstedt is behind the plate in the Bronx today trying his best to become the lowest-rated ump in the game, calling strikes 6" off the plate.

But, he pulled a new one that I cannot say I've ever seen before. After Aaron Boone questioned and call, he got a warning that, one more word, and he'll be tossed. So, the camera is showing Boone in the dugout, a fan yells at the ump, and he tosses Boone. Boone is yelling that he never said anything. "I don't care who said it, you're gone!" It was all caught on camera and audio.

That should be a fine for Wendelstedt. But, as we know, MLB umpires are above any sort of accountability.

Wendelstedt had his rabbit ears set to hypersensitive today. Never seen it before either

Angel Hernandez made some shitty calls during LAD/Mets - but nowhere near as bad as his prior game. Wendelstedt has competition.....

Angel seems to be an angel to his colleagues. Everybody goes out of their way to say what a really nice guy he is.

Okay, he's a nice guy. Maybe that's his self-preservation scheme. Be so nice and sweet that nobody would want to hurt his feelings.

Meanwhile, instead of improving his game, he chooses to be a really nice guy who also happens to be the poster by of everything that is wrong with MLB umpiring.

Yet, MLB continues to slow-walk the robot ump.

Where else can you make more money while doing less work?
