There is no contact when you are hit by a pitch. That doesn't tell if he was hit before he supposedly swung the bat. The bat ended up behind him on the ground.

I'm referring to the ball contacting the hitter or his uniform.

I just watched the play. It was a clear swing and miss. It was no HBP. I would argue that he hit the ball; the ball didn't hit him. Too bad he broke his hand, but there is no controversy. Nothing to see folks. Move on to next Spring.

The ball hit him and broke his hand. But a full on view doesn't tell when the ball hit him or if he swung the bat. You need to see from the third base angle. I've seen these guys blow calls many times.

FFS, he swung his hand right into the ball. It's clear as day.

It's all right here in the video at the top of the page. I suspect that this is a controversy only within the fan base, if not a tiny portion of it.

Okay, I'll take a stab. The Yankees will either go all the way or get bounced in the first round. I wouldn't be surprised, either way.
