    70s Dreamy/Meditative Prog-Jazz Songs

"Smooth Jazz" is usually funky, or a fit too fast for what I've been trying to find, and I can't think of a music search engine that has tempo as a filter.... I'm looking for jazz chords, slow tempo, don't even care if there's vocals and percussion.. Always love electric piano, but also acoustic piano.... flute.. acoustic guitar.. Sustained strings, deep echoes, pulsating... Relaxing. Meditative. Vibrations.

An example would be a song by Lonnie Liston Smith - Meditations ... Maybe another word would be "ambient"?

I'll post the title and the song, just in case the video URL changes, etc... it's sad seeing old archived threads on here with a lot of songs with nothing but a video that is unavailable.

Most seem to be instrumentals, but there's some Laura Nyro songs that would fit... Electric System - Skylab

Lonnie Liston Smith - Meditations (even the album photo of a raindrop seems to be how it sounds visually)

Al Di Meola's Cielo e Terra album is similar.

Red Lanta by Art Lande and Jan Garbarek popped into my head when I read this.
And then I started going through my mental ECM catalog and there are a bunch from that time frame that fit, better than OJ's glove.

I agree with Mark that the ECM catalog has music that might fit your bill.Maybe you'll dig this-Love Song, from John Abercrombie's album "Timeless".On this track,Jan Hammer on piano and John Abercrombie on acoustic guitar.

Stuff by Herbie Hancock (Mwandishi) and Julian Priester fit the bill.

When I want something of this sort, I usually turn to the Shemp Meditation Tape. Alas, only a sample (or is that a cample?) appears to be available online.

Les Mc Cann: Invitation To Openness (1972).

A classic and one of the best in this style.

My band Solstein is mostly downtempo, chilled jazz-funk, and Lonnie is certainly one of our inspirations.

Ok, so one doesn't truly fit. Though it should have.

If it's not an instrumental, I always prefer a woman's voice nowadays over the music... I also love vocables over a song, which allow the vocals to be an instrument, and not worry about lyrical phrasing, etc...

The Greg Foat Group released a relaxed jazz/fusion-album in 2012 called Girl And Robot With Flowers.
    Here's part 1 of the title-track:
