"Because I don't play this kind of stuff."

I guess he needs to express his superiority to his fans, or something.

or he wants to relax at home and doesn't get enjoyment from listening to his own work ? pretty typical among artists I'd think.

I think I'd like to see a 2CD reissue of Bursting Out with the Steven Wilson stereo remix, and incorporating the whole set, but other than that I can't see the point of buying this boxset, especially when I already have the Live From Madison Square Garden DVD released a few years ago.

Well, I guess I'm kinda lucky that I didn't, but I'm buying this primarily for the book. These books are very well put together and have really substantial content, well above any comparable reissues I can think of.

the mix on that DVD kinda sucks ... imo anyway. Can't wait to hear what magic Wilson is able to sprinkle upon it. Of course, the main draw of these sets is the 5.1 mixes for me.

For people like me who only have the first old arse CD release and want a nice beefy new version remastered with a great book.

Burning Shed has also shipped all of theirs and are sold out. Although I suppose that mainly affects UK/Euro customers.

Thanks, mine’s coming from Amazon tomorrow too but I hadn’t noticed the shipping note. I’m pretty excited - I haven’t listened to Bursting Out in quite a while. Fripp and Tull will be fighting for the Blu-Ray player this weekend!

Paul McCartney's got his One Hand Clapping set of Wings demos and alt tracks. There's also a spendy Bowie box of Ziggy outtakes and bonus tracks.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

    Mine just arrived.
Maybe I'll put it in my bookcase because I don't play this kind of stuff.

Just got a message from Amazon. They are issuing a partial refund of $11.44 for a "price drop" on release day. That brings this book to $44.61.

Casually listened to CD1 last night.....It seemed to me that this version has too much reverb (room acoustics?) in the vocals. Hey, this has been in my musical rotation since 1978 so changes might be a little hard to accept.

1/3 way through the book. Interesting how Ian used sound checks to work on tunes in progress. He also explained why he dropped warm up acts for this tour.....too much time passes (up to 4 hours) between sound check and performance.

Zappa did too, probably others. Beats trying to round everyone up after the tour for rehearsals.
