If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

there was a time that i would have been very excited by this.
that time was before "rattle that lock"
He's in a bit of an "old favorite artist" sweet spot for me....I don't expect miracles or masterpieces from him anymore, but he releases new stuff so infrequently that I really can't complain. Dropping $15 or so once a decade for solid C+ material isn't exactly breaking my bank

We can't all be independently wealthy, like you, John
TBH, it's more like i don't know when i'm going to feel like it is the thing i want to hear "right now", more than anything else. of course, if others, whose opinions i trust, are saying enough good things, i'll give it a shot
High hopes! Eh... not really.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Oh yeah, I get it. As a whole Rattle was a definite step down from On an Island (which I happen to really enjoy). But there are a couple of tracks that I still enjoy from time to time, that make owning the album worth the $$. But I definitely appreciate folks approaching with healthy caution.

Yeah, Rattle had some great moments but a lot of it was skippable so not expecting too much except some great guitar playing hopefully. If he could have the songs more in the vein of On An Island or his long lost first album I'd be happy. I wonder if he'll tour?
Sweet! Look forward to hearing it and Rick Wright is on a tune!

Well, I like Rattle a lot more than On An Island, so I’m excited.
David Gilmour is like a Cicada. He comes out every 13 years or so, makes a loud noise, then disappears for another 13 years.
I think Rattle That Lock is lousy. Bringing a Rick Wright barn jam clip into a song isn't making me like the prospect of this album being any better, either. Samson isn't a good lyricist in my view. And his statement of throwing out all he thought he was bound to doesn't bode well...We'll see, but not holding my breath.
Not an auto buy for me anymore as I have been somewhat disappointed in the last few he has done. Going to wait to see some reviews first.
The only Floyd related thing that is auto-buy for me is anything from Nick Mason. Who knew?
