They announced quite awhile back that they won't be touring for this album for personal reasons whatever that means.

Ah, I had not heard that. Hope Floor's health is ok.

I love the song, but I hope that's not the final album mix. Floor's vocals are buried!

That was also a problem with the previous two NW albums with Floor, in my opinion. Those songs really came to life on stage, I think.

I am pretty sure she is fine as besides Nightwish she is regularly doing solo-gigs in the Netherlands these days. This summer she is doing a few larger outdoor shows.

So having had the new album for a week or two I am still trying to digest it. At 71 minutes there's a lot to listen to and have to admit I've been struggling to like it. The words overlong and overbearing spring to mind. Although I don't dislike any of the tracks in particular there's not too much I really love either. Some of the long tracks seem to be too bombastic for me maybe - I don't know. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I love Nightwish and Floor is the best of the singers they've had, but recent albums have not been great in my opinion. Certainly losing Jukka and Marko has changed the feel of the band, a lot of the "soul" of the band has been lost, even though the brains are still there.

Bombast is always a risk with Nightwish. I generally agree that none of the songs stand out individually, but I like the way the album coheres as a listening experience. The last album was getting dangerously close to cheesy Disney soundtrack territory, but I feel like there's more harmonic and emotional complexity with the new album.

I wish Tuomas would consider paring back the arrangements for the next album. His orchestral rock leanings feel a bit played out at this point.
