IQ - New Archive Collection Recording for 2024

After the success of the two ‘weekender shows’ earlier this year in Bury and Aschaffenburg the band have put together a new Archive Collection release - a recording of both nights at the Colos-Saal in Aschaffenburg.

This rather lovely product features four CDs presented in two 6-panel digi-sleeves with a 24 page booklet, all presented in a slipcase with new artwork by Tony Lythgoe.

The whole thing includes both complete shows from the weekend, and of course the Saturday show features a complete live performance of ‘Dark Matter’. Cor!

    Track list:

    Disc 1:

    1. Intro/The Narrow Margin
    2. From The Outside In
    3. Fading Senses
    4. Failsafe
    5. Stay Down
    6. Subterranea

    Disc 2:

    2. Leap of Faith
    3. Closer
    4. The Road of Bones
    5. The Seventh House

    7. Ten Million Demons

    Disc 3:

    1. Intro/Sacred Sound
    2. Red Dust Shadow
    3. You Never Will
    4. Born Brilliant
    5. Harvest Of Souls
    6. No Love Lost

Four CD's so you know it ain't gonna be Cheap! I just pre-ordered. $32.00 USD + $21.00 USD Shipping! so.....$53.00 to my house in the USA

Remember, I highlighted Archive Collection so this means it ain't gonna sit in the IQ Store forever.

Since IQ will return to the USA in 2025 (CTTE) I hope there will be additional dates landside. The new album should be available by then too.

^ I can't get anything other than the headers to load. I'll stick with it or try later.

Ordered. Too bad the big Archive box set from a couple years ago didn't have a few more empty pockets for future Archive releases!

Gary is an effective shill for IQ!

I just realized I ordered it without knowing if they were CDs or DVDs or Blu-Rays! LOL. I'm glad it's CDs, less pressure.

Yup.....I just get info from their FB page and occasionally a newsletter.....but that is way after the fact.

That was the first thing I tried, but it had no effect. I got there by clicking the Other Items tab, which loaded, and then clicking the CDs tab, which loaded. Strange voodoo.

I am sure we will have it but I have not asked yet. Typically IQ sells these archival releases exclusively then after a period of time they allow Giant Electric Pea to wholesale them out. So its a waiting game for us.

Things like this have a tendency to disappear in a flash. So I ordered it immediately! Had to pucker up for the shipping cost!

Glad it worked out after all. Seems the page was not loading correctly the first time around, or perhaps was loading too slowly for the impatient people ... guess the latter would include both of us. Anyway, as the impatient one, properly ordered it and hope it will not take too long before we can get our hands on it. As their website says "... The whole thing includes both complete shows from the weekend, and of course the Saturday show features a complete live performance of ‘Dark Matter’". If I remember correctly, the second time around at NARFest they played the whole "Dark Matter" and should bring back some great memories

If the exchange rate goes well, you'll have to see which option is lower since IQHQ charges such a steep amount for shipping while that charge is cheaper in the US but the CDs could be more expensive.
Thing is, if you are a diehard fan and can't hold off on the pre-order, you can't afford to play the waiting game. I'll take the risk and wait.

    From IQ FB Page:
The IQ Weekender 2024 Box Set - Update
There's been a slight delay in the pressing of the Box Set due to the fact that we're actually printing on the inside of the slip case (naturally) and there were a few problems with the alignment of the image. We should be taking delivery in the first or second week in June. We'll keep you posted of course, but meanwhile - it's selling rather well!

I didn't think these would be sold outside their site.
I've learned not to wait to order things like this that disappear quickly.

Not to be Lo-IQ or anything, but I actually don't love "Dark Matter" as much as they and most fans apparently do. Maybe this will change my mind, but there's plenty of other good stuff on here!
