The Decemberists - As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again (2024)

Anyone listened to this new album yet? It’s streaming as of today. I thought the pre-release songs were excellent. I would have listened to the album by now, but I’m hoping to get the CD for Father’s Day.

There's some new textures in sound, some great harmony work, and a 19 minute epic. The six year break may have been worth it.

The song has just the right amount of humor, IMO. And it's super-catchy.

"Burial Ground" is a top notch Decemberists song. Easily among the best of them.

I hadn’t realised it was out already, I’ll be listening soon. I have enjoyed the pre-release tracks, they’ve been missing from my listening for a little too long.

I love the trumpet solo or whatever it is in Burial Ground! So good.
