It is amazing but to be fair, nowadays home studios can be professional tier facilities. Neal Morse's Radiant recording studio complex is de facto his home studio.
Mike Oldfield is one of the greatest pioneers in this scene: he has made almost everyone of his albums after Hergest Ridge (1974) in his state of the art home studio.

Here are my thoughts about 'A Louse is not a Home' by Peter Hammill and members of Van Der Graaf Generator, from his 1974 solo album The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage. A masterpiece? What do you think? Click on the link below.

It is brilliant piece of music! Your analysis seems to be very interesting. I will look at it in more detail later today. Here is my humble review of The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage: https://pienemmatpurot.com/review-pe...ty-stage-1974/

Thanks - I hope you enjoy my review! In the meantime I really enjoyed your review of the complete album, particularly the excellent line, 'Hammill can make a surprisingly impressive racket on his own.' I saw him perform live on his own on three separate occasions, so I agree with your comment!
Here are my thoughts about the 2024 Dolby Atmos mix of Storm Corrosion's 2012 album, a collaboration between Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) and Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth)

The original Tubular Bells was the product of superb musicianship, a fertile imagination and many hours spent in the studio painstakingly overdubbing everything by hand, the product of a singular vision. Robin Smith’s stunning arrangement paid fitting tribute to the original but added drama and cinematic touches to produce a compelling new version. Read my review of a superb concert at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.

I saw the same show in March in Finland. Pretty good but there was some cheesy moments.

Can Artificial Intelligence (AI) help write songs? Steven Wilson thinks it might be able to. In December last year he released December Skies, a Christmas song with lyrics written by AI. Now it's due for physical release on vinyl and cd. Here are my thoughts on the song:

Perhaps your post can be added to the existing threat about this song:
