Tried that for a little bit this afternoon. My main complaint was they stick to the big sports too much. Obviously this is only day one so perhaps things will change going forward.

Here's a real head scratcher: I've been watching the games on Peacock, where they also have replays of everything! So if you miss something or can't watch because you're watching some other event, you can still see it. Excellent!
And now the problem: I was watching the USA/Zambia women's soccer match and what did the commentators do? Announced results and scores of other matches that had just finished or were taking place at the same time, without a fucking spoiler warning!
I remember four years ago, I just happened to be watching NBC Nightly News and Lester Holt mentioned the upcoming Olympic show. He then said something like, "I'm not going to give anything away but the US is golden."
I can't believe this shit is still going on!
So, in advance of the USA/German match today I replied to @USWNT, preemptively tweeting, "Going to be a good one! Now let's hope @JonChampionJC @JulieFoudy & other match commentators on @peacock @USANetwork & @nbc don't announce scores of other matches. NO SPOILERS, PLEASE! Otherwise, why have replays on Peacock? What next? Telling us the ends of books & movies?"

I have had it on this morning and seen mountain biking, boxing, kayaking, fencing, sailing, water polo in the past hour. Not sure that I would consider any of this big sports other than boxing. Yesterday they were covering a lot of rugby, soccer and basketball so it might depend more on the time of day.
I am watching USA vs Japan women’s Rugby 7’s right now. I am far from an expert on Rugby, but enjoy it when I watch it. For you Rugby experts a few quick questions:
• How did Rugby 7’s come about? The action is exciting, but the games are really short. I mean, it seems like they are over before they start which I find odd. How did this form of Rugby evolve from regular Rugby.
• When a player scores a touchdown (or whatever they are called in Rugby), do they have to dive over the goal line or can they just run across? They always seem to dive, but is this a requirement or just a tradition?
• If a player with the ball gets a breakaway towards the goal line are other players allowed to block for them (like in American Football) or is that not allowed?
USA v Germany (women's soccer), today at 3:00 p.m. eastern, 2:00 p.m. central. Gonna be a good one.
Currently watching Brazil v Japan (also women's soccer).

Oh good. I didn't get a chance to watch yesterday, but the first day they seemed to have the 'base' events be soccer or basketball and mostly switched briefly to other things or when there were medals on the line somewhere, at least for like the two to three hours i was watching it. I will try and put it on today as I do like the concept.

a) Been following (but certainly not acutely) Rugby since high school in Toronto (I was on the team), but the teams of seven, I'd never heard it before these OG - there is a variant with 13 players that is quite popular in France, but I don't know if the rules are exactly the same or not. My guess is that 7 would be a better alternative to the 13 or 15, because the strategy is probably very different. I will check it (7) out ASAP.
aa) a first quick search (Wiki is your friend) says that it was developed in Scotland throughout the second half of the XXth C and been part of the Games since Rio 2016 (that news to me - it escaped my radar). But the first game was held in the XIXth C.
b) Unlike in American Football, the ball must touch the ground and it must be the action of the ball carrier. Unlike NFL or CFL, the place where the touchdown happened is important, because it sets the angle where the two-points conversion will take place; This is why you'll see the players to put the ball down in a direct line with the goalposts for an easier conversion kick.
c) not sure I understand your question, but I doubt that tackling the ball carrier would be disallowed.

Regarding question C. Yesterday there was a player with a breakaway towards the goal line. Another member of her team was close by. A member of the other team was closing in on the girl with the ball. My question was, could the girl without the ball block for the girl chasing the ball? Similar to what a reciever might do for a running back in American Football. I believe the answer is no, but just checking.
