    Recent prog about getting old(er)

It's inevitable as we bid adieu to our mispent youths. We will or are confronting the stark realities of getting old(er) so I appreciate when artists address these challenges in song.

    From Gabriel's I/O- So Much:
"The body stiffens tires and aches
    In its wrinkled blotchy skin
    With each decade more camouflage
    For the wild-eyed child within
Now close your eyes for a moment
    Look down and look above
All the warmth inside of you
    Comes from those you love

Ah, there’s so much to live for
    So much left to give
    This edition is limited
There’s only so much can be done".

"Playing for Time" from the same album seem to strike some similar notes about our dwindling time on this mortal coil.

Unitopia devoted the whole of their recent double disc "Seven Chambers" to the diseases that ravage us in our "golden" years including heart attacks and diabetes. Many of us can relate to the struggles as summarized by these lyrics:
"Say Goodbye to you, vitality… Will I live to fight another day, if I could keep this broken heart beating.”

Peter Hammill has quite a few latter-day songs that reflect our increased awareness/recognition of aging and inevitable demise.

    Others?

I'm ~30 years old and the more I read posts by people 55+ over here on PE, the more I'm terrified of becoming a senior citizen.

As much as PG is one of my heroes I cannot say that I like those lyrics

Big Big Train - most of the new album has themes about this.

Well, at that point all today's senior 70+ yo progressiveears users (the majority of active users) will be dead. Will progressiveears even be a thing anymore? It's right now for the most part a boomers' club, with very very few people under 60 who are active and not just popping in every once in a while to do some self promotion. The chance that new generations will keep this community going is deader than shit tbh.

You should be terrified of not becoming a senior citizen.

Who are you calling a "senior citizen?" I resemble that remark.

Quite a few years ago, I saw a version of Gong, in which Daevid Allen sang a song about how he was aging.
He sang lyrics about how every part of him was aging. This included a part of him - which was aging - that he took out on stage and let the whole room see, but which I just as well would have rather not seen at all.

Sounds like the next David Gilmour album will largely address the theme of getting older.
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

I'm only 3 years shy of becoming a "senior citizen". I can't wait.

That Gong song (Bodilingus) is from their 2000 album Zero to Infinity.

I agree that those Peter Gabriel lyrics are not up to his past standards IMHO. That whole album just seems lacking in any originality or creativity to me.

Well, I'm a NEET right now so I see it differently. Still, getting old is way better than the opposite.
I mean this, not "getting younger":
