Me to my wife after she has a couple glasses of wine tonight: "You know, honey, maybe we should take a little trip to the U.K. this fall..."
Nice to see Bruford with a guitarist again.
A couple of these shows are quite local to me, Guildford sold out though & Loxwood not sure, this guy Pete Roth is suddenly going to be very popular!
Wow. Shocked but very pleasantly surprised.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.
Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.
I'm only here to reglaze my bathtub.
I would definitely go if I were in the UK. Delighted to see him playing again! I wonder if playing a bit at the John Wetton tribute last year rekindled a bit of the old fire? Great news regardless.
Whaaaaaaat?
I did not think he would ever play out again. But pure jazz can do that to a guy like him.
So cool!
Will be seeing Steve Hackett when they play Kingston upon Thames.
Still. after the last minute cancelation of Genesis last shows, I bought a ticket as a Plan B...

Not a big Jazz fan but if Bill is involved I might give it a try, one of the gigs is only 20 minutes away.

Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?
So glad BB is playing again at any level. If I was anywhere near, I'd be there.
This ain't some weird April Fool's joke in September, is it? If it's not, it's great to have BB back in action!
He's played out a few times in "friends and family" situations, from what I recall.
From his book, it sounds like it was the travel that he got sick of, more than the playing. That story of him laying on the floor of the hotel somewhere in America trying to get his aching back sorted out was one of the parts that resonated. Plus, he just had some other things he wanted to do. Maybe he's gotten some of that taken care of.
I doubt he'll be doing extensive touring in any context. Playing a few shows around the UK once and a while is not really "touring" as I think of it.
but it might spark a desire to record his own music again...

Wonderful to see him playing again! Light and extremely intricate, players are great- all Bruford. Thx for the post!

was great to see Bruford having written a few tunes for Steve Howe Trio's New Frontier. Don't know how likely them recording together would be, but one can dream
