I hope things work out well for them. This thread gave me reason to look into their music after hearing about them for a while, so I pledged. Perhaps it's cause I also make art for the fun of it without much compensation so I felt sympathy, although the Echolyn folks have made much more than I have.

Worst case scenario…credit card fraud is super easy to deal with online or via a single phone call. Even if you are an idiot and leave your card number scribbled on sticky notes all over town the absolute most for which you can be held liable under US law is $50. It’s happened to me several times. I’ve never had to pay a dime and I’ve gotten a replacement card in days. A flat tire would be a bigger inconvenience for me. Please note that debit cards linked to a checking account do not have the same strong protections. Don’t use them. Anyway, Kickstarter is very well established and reputable so I wouldn’t be skittish about typing in a credit card number.

Thank you. Already a done deal for me Tier 2), but perhaps your take can be useful for others.
