One of the most important and sadly underrated german artists. He was the "melodist" in Cluster. I'm a huge fan since the early 70ies and remained until this day.
I really like and enjoy his solo works, especially the "Selbsportrait" series, made of small relaxing minimalist "pastoral" vignettes. Durch Die Wüste, Lustwandel, and Jardin Au Fou are classic masterpieces.
He is not a synth "techno freak" and it's amazing what he could do with very simple basic equipment: nearly everything on S/P was done with a Farfisa VIP 600 organ and a few outboard effects.
Very inspired and inspiring music.
90 is a very respectable age (BTW, CAN's Irmin Schmidt is also approaching that) and I wonder if he's still making new music.

I know he's fast friends with Tim Story. It would be nice of Tim could help him with one more US tour. If not, I get it. He's 90, touring/travel is hard and can be soul sucking and creative music tours don't always pay well. So glad I got to see him the two times I did. Happy Birthday, Maestro!
