Frank B finally posted about this release:

    Dear ELOY friends,

during my long, due to the accident, almost a year break bzgl. musical activities, the suggestion of the label MIG (Music in Germany) was to produce a special ELOY compilation with songs and recordings in a specially prepared form, which contains on the one hand less known musical material, but also special takes of the band, all of which were created during the 80s- in the formation at that time. Since the band, at that time, through the keyboard instruments such as synthesizers, which were currently on the market, provided particularly attractive sound options, they were also used accordingly, and musical pieces were created, which once again produced a special, very ambitious chapter in the band's history. So I agreed to create a special compilation with music from that era. Together with the sound engineers Benjamin Schäfer and Arne Neurand, I browsed through numerous recordings from that time and in this collaboration created the album that is now available. The remark of a studio visitor, who spoke euphorically stimulated by the sound and music of "hidden treasures", thanks to the album title "Hidden Treasures". I hope and wish that you enjoy this compilation, too.

    Sincerely
    Your Frank

Frank has done a lot of re-recordings in the past like the ones included in the Chronicles sets I & II, done in 1994 (escape to the heights, nightriders and more) all are very good but did not add much to the essential sentiment of the originals. But still, this is a "must buy", thanks for posting.

It's hard to uderstand what the heck this collection really is - that description didn't exactly clear it up for me!

Seems clear enough to me: a selected collection/compilation of early 80ies songs (which were very synth-oriented), remixed and remastered (whatever that means).
The songs selection looks good but we must be cautious since if they used alternate takes (see back cover description) it can't actually be called a "remix". How far did they go and how different it will be from the originals nobody knows.
Still, I could be interested by this one ...

All good points. I did pre-order it, but not exactly sure what I am getting.

This sounds like remixes, not re-recordings like the Chronicles albums. One of Frank's quotes talks about different takes of the songs or instruments that were available to be used in a new mix

"Since each song was recorded several times during an ELOY recording session, we had perfect possibilities to optimize the sound..."

Not sure what this really means... not a "re-recording" but if they used different alternate (period) takes it's not a "remix" either. "Optimizing" ?

Not always easy to "decode" Frank's words...
