    The Martian Chronicles III - I Or A.I. (2024)

I have been listening to this album. Anybody who likes Solaris will probably rate it highly. The album is divided into three suites. 1st Suite: ZOO GALACTICA (20:34),
2nd Suite: BALLAD OF DELUGE (21:03), 3rd Suite: DREAM VALLEY (39:43)

It has all the usual hall marks of their style , beautiful melodies and heavier sections dominated by flute, guitars and synths. There are also lots of choral parts and many atmospheric cello embellishments. It is beautifully executed and is enhanced by the great sound quality of the recording. I like it a lot, even though it may not be the most complex or progressive prog around. I am interested in other peoples views about this release and particularly the video clip .

I thought they would break into Tom Sawyer right at the beginning (and again at the end)! I enjoyed the interplay of the keys, guitars, flutes, and violin + the solo spots for each. I especially got into the fretless bass solos. Percussion work was notable, too, without being too over-the-top. Nice orchestral accompaniment and choir toward the end. Fun stuff ~ Thanks for posting!

The reference was, as those here who were among the 400+ in attendance at the inaugural Nearfest in '99 might recall, to Solaris' set, already late, running into IQ's slot (again, already quite late as I recall...), I think it was Chad who tried to compel them to wrap their set up, only to have the frontman appeal to the crowd by asking...
    "You want more Solaris?"

At least that's how I remember that night! Almost as dramatic as the near dust-up between Ryo from SB and Crucible's keyboardist...something about a damaged borrowed mellotron iirc...

I love it! Liked the video too. I haven't listened to Solaris in a very long time, but I might need to make up for that.

You just made me remember the drunken lighting tech and his son at Rosfest 2007! That was interesting to watch on the side of the stage while the band was performing. I can't remember which band it was. Maybe Starcastle?
