What is the most sampled classic rock song of all time?

I would never have guessed - Long Red by Mountain

Most sampled would have to be a Bob Dylan song. Take your pick.

I would have thought maybe when the levee breaks but I guess it's Long Red (I song I never even heard of until just now).

Yep, I was going to say that. It's been used quite a bit. Can't say i ever heard it being used, since I don't listen to rap. But I have been familiar with that performance for decades.

Next to Tony Iommi, Leslie West (my favorite guitarist) was the riffmaster. And, of course, he WAS the King of Tone.

Leslie was an early, rock guitar hero of mine. My first recollection of having hear Leslie was on the Woodstock II album. I was a kid of 12 or 13. The song was Blood of The Sun. Crunchy, ballsy, heavy. If I ever buy another guitar it'll be a Paul Jr. with that P90....

I thought it would have been something like "Funky Drummer," "Think About It" or "Knee Deep."

Well, "think about it" is not really rock but more like funk. Lyn Collins apparently started out as one of the backup singers for James Brown.

I thought I read that some of the early Bob James tracks were the most sampled like "take me to the mardis gras" but that's not rock either.
