I think this might be the earliest thing by Torn that I've come across.

Torn and Berne have a new download-only label called 9donkeys, and just released a week or so ago is a solo guitar album called "FUR/TORN" https://screwgunrecords.com/album/fur-torn which should appeal to fans of his ECM album "Only Sky".

Today Berne wrote about some upcoming things he's got in the pipeline including "Lots of very cool stuff and lots more to come in july including the very first Sun of Goldfinger concert in 2010".

I am currently listening to Robert Rich's album Seven Veils, which has The Mighty Torn on a coupla tracks. I am also appreciating it.

I realized I also started the day with Sylvian's Secrets of the Beehive. So, a Torn session man day it was, I guess.

Thanks for the pointer. Got it.

Gotcha, I don't know that one but I'll have to look for it.

Snatched that up & played it over & over. A great combination of percussion & melody! Thanks!

Kewl. I somewhat randomly grabbed it around ten years ago. Quite groovy. If you dig this vibe/sound/style, I highly recommend Hossam Ramzy and Phil Thornton's album Immortal Egypt.

He did a gig a month ago in NYC with Berne, Smith and Taborn, as "Mars".

Anybody see any recordings surface yet?

    Interesting hour or so interview:

Not being a musician or a gear head I skipped ahead a few times, but talking about how his pink guitar was still pretty informative to me, giving some insight into how he works.

He mentions something about how he's not going to be with a record company soon, but will be making his own Bandcamp page available in the near future.
I would guess he could be referring to ECM and Screwgun. He mentions that over the years Bruford has given him a good-natured hard time about the missing bottom end on Cloud About Mercury and wonders if he'll ever remix it, but I doubt it's his decision.

A Torn Bandcamp is good news.

    Thanks for the update!

Perhaps you'd care to listen to track #4 here, a David Torn remix of a track from Stephan Thelen's Fractal Guitar 2:

Looks like a trio of Torn, Michael Manring and Scott Amendola will be doing some shows starting in March.

Oh! I would be interested in that if it makes it over to Frownland.

Apologize if this interview was already posted on PE somewhere...He talks about what leads up to the Everyman Band and ends w/ Cloud About Mercury. Was kind of hoping he'd talk about the CMP releases, (Dark Tamna Voda and the Marty Fogel record) he played on and maybe Polytown. Still probably a fun one to check out if you're a Torn fan.

My, that looks nice. Too bad I'm down here in the reality distortion bubble.
