Same here. It's the only one I've heard by them though. I agree it's a very good album. It's one of those "fun albums."
I take back what I said about it not being heavy metal though. There are some poppish or even mellow tunes on it but over all very much heavy metal. I think these days there seems to be a difference between metal and heavy metal. I think the term "metal" came along sometime during this century and is a catch all term sort of like electronica (I could very well be wrong about that though or maybe I have it backwards).
Yesterday, after that one, I listened to Def Leppard's "hysteria" which I suppose is more hard rock but still a very good album.

For me, that's where they fell off the plank. After a few albums that become several of the cornerstones of NWoBHM, Hysteria is sonic cotton candy. Maybe "Run Riot" is what it should have sounded like, but stuff like "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Love Bites" and "Excitable" are decaf, at best.
Well, today I listened to a pretty good albeit rather obscure album called A Chinese Firedrill. They were a side project by Joey Vera from Fates Warning and only put out one album but it's not bad. I imagine it's probably one of those albums that grows on you. Those who like Gavin Harrsion era Porcupine Tree could do a lot worse.
Yeah, I probably prefer Pyromania overall but for me the biggest issue I have with Hysteria is that some of those songs have just been way overplayed. I suppose it does lean towards hair metal but imo stuff like Poison or Cinderella are a lot worse.

German Progressive metal band Life Artist had released their debut album "Diary of Inner Visions" in 1992 on German metal label Dream Circle Records, when this band also toured with Psychotic Waltz and Gypsy Kyss. An EP was released after that tour and then it was over.
After almost 30 years, their comeback album "Lifelines" is available as a physical CD on Ragnarök Records. The new record is quite appealing due to masterful musicians entirely at the service of clever compositions that touch hearts and minds equally. Still, it is interesting to hear how the Life Artist still work wonderfully a 30 years later and give you goosebumps.
For fans of obscure European prog-metal I can make a warmest recommendation.
Listened to this gem last night, Oceans of Slumber - Winter, 2016. Awesome female lead singer fronts metal band and does not sound anything like Nightwish. The music is clearly Progressive Metal, but even then doesn't stay within the lines. The closer, Grace, is a beautiful solo piano piece, there is a cover of Knights in White Satin, and the drummer is a former member of Insect Warfare, a infamous grindcore outfit. Somehow it all works for most of the album. I'd say the first three tracks are stellar, the middle is mushy and the closing tracks bring it back home. I'm in awe of the drumming and vocals throughout, including the death growl lyric sections and the occasional muted high pitched Black Metal screech.
Duncan's going to make a Horns Emoticon!!!
Yeah, that was cool shit Eric Thanks as always for sharing!
I'm currently loving the hell out of the new Deafheaven (which isn't really metal but is still somehow 100% Deafheaven), also enjoying the new Wolves in the Throne Room (not their best but I'm liking it), and the last Year of No Light which is like Godspeed You Black Emperor going black metal...
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Much better than I expected
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
Have you seen the live version she did with Metallica on Stern?
Really very good. Miley has pipes. And attitude.
"And this is the chorus.....or perhaps it's a bridge...."
I'm listening to Fate's Warning.....No Exit. Technical and thrashy af.
Fates Warning is SOOOOO under-appreciated

Dropforge, I heard the whole album. I bit melodic but technical and proggy.
