Oooffff. I finished hearing all of Alice In Hell. What a technical masterpiece. They kinda remind me of Watchtower. I'm not hearing a lot off odd meters but it's fast, tricky, and stop on a dime tempo changes. Love the guitars. This was before all the downtuning took over metal.

In my world this is what American heavy metal sounded like in 1976:

Cool schnitt. I dig. Like the Satan/ LOTR combination in the video. Metal will always be exciting for me, SO much to explore. When the prog runs out you can always go metal

It’s been a while since I span any Cathedral, and I’d forgotten how groovy and fun they could be when not dooming out.

I think they are pretty groovy and fun when they are dooming out, too. Maybe not as fun, but definitely groovy.

    ^ Very cool...never heard before.

How fucking great is this? Chuck is so legendary in my mind and this clip is probably my fav of his. Sean Reinert on kit is just stellar.

I've watched a few videos from Justin Hawkins' (The Darkness) YT channel after someone mentioned him on another thread. Thanks to Mr Hawkins I am now aware of German metalcore/EDM(!) comedy band Eskimo Callboy. These two videos put a big smile on my face.

^ Eeeek. My head almost exploded....

Love the fast, technical, guitars and drums but the vocals are a deal breaker.

    Is that keyboards I hear?

Meshuggah is an all-time favorite and they have yet to disappoint me, CD or live!

Metal Blade did me proud, delivered the new Cult of Luna a full week ahead of the release date

Listening now...god damn it, already an easy spot on the 2022 Best Of list.

For those who frown upon the growls, this new single is all clean vox. I get a real Anekdoten vibe on this one, which is a good thing IMHO...

If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Epicus Doomicus Metallicus at the time of posting, but I also listened to The Door to Doom and Ancient Dreams earlier this week.
