Here is a new one I think will be of interest to some here:
I already have this on order, sounds right up my alley. I also think the new Museo Rosenbach sounds pretty good, and I'm not even that big a fan of Zarathustra.
Bill
That Progenesi Album sure sounds promising have this one on order too.
Other fun stuff:
Canterbury Zumba
Somewhat like a italian version of Magenta
Would also like to recommend som proggy folk stuff
Just beautyfull
More real folk, but really great
Heavy World Prog
I love Mangala Vallis -- they just released their 3rd album. Very retro symphonic.
Also their offshoot CCLR.
Great stuff!
I'm not sure how to post the actual video, so here's a Youtube link to Duellum by Barock Project from their 2nd album, Rebus. If you haven't heard these guys, this is a good place to start - - - - - Jeff

Greg Walker. I'm actually waiting for him to get one other CD before finalizing the order. Wayside and Laser's Edge also has it.
Actually an edit to this... the reason I'm using Greg is that I wanted to pick up the Moogg, which I sampled from this thread. I also got the Fonderia albums from hearing them here, so cheers to everyone who has contributed positively to this informative thread.

^ thanks Bill. it's crazy the amount of quality new music that's out there. especially from Italy.
News from Il Tempio delle Clessidre (from their Website)
Hi guys,
It's a lot of time that we're not updating our website, but for us it's a very challenging period. Excluding the last live performance at Villanova D'Albenga on May 26th, we've been working very hard to complete our new album, which will be released around next October. Meanwhile, we are completing the video editing for the DVD containing our performance in Seoul, and we believe it will be a pleasure for many of you.
The DVD will be released in a few weeks.
Plugs for my favorite RPI albums so far this year:
Ingranaggi della Valle - symphonic fusion similar to Arti e Mestieri, really excellent stuff. Videos above, though not including the best tracks on the album
Unreal City - my favorite Zuffanti related project (he produces)
Tugs - 70s band finally releases their debut album
Progenesi - instrumental concept album that actually works
It blows my mind how many of these are still out there, especially considering the sheer volume of 70s Italian prog acts that did actually get to release at least one album!

Hi!
As mentioned before...check out Ingranaggi Della Valle. A really great new progressive band from Rome.
I had the great pleasure to come to Rome and play a bit (Drums, atmospeheres etc) on the album and it is so much fun to hear the new younger generation go at it in their own way.
So..thats my insider recommendation.

Thank you...Yep they have got a real special thing going. I think they might be doing some live shows in the fall...sadly enough only in Italy as far as I know.
I had a couple of days with the band in Rome and they are really wonderful people too. It was so much fun to see a debutband in the studio without being in a producers role just observing and seeing the interplay, nervous joy, politics, inside jokes and tensions.
It will never change. You never make your first album twice.

Don't miss the free download of this Corde Oblique 4 track EP (really brilliant prog folk):

One more: L'Albero Del Veleno - "Le Radici del Male" (great instrumental symphonic music inspired by horror movies released on the Lizard Records label). Here are two tracks from the album:
Not sure whether this band was mentioned on this thread. I couldn't find any reference.
L'Albero Del Veleno are nice but there is much better stuff in this direction (not to mention Goblin)
Calibro 35 (much more retro, a new album will be released this year)
Ballo delle Castagne
The Fifth Season (with R. Maltese)
FEM Prog Band (now in the Altrock/Fading stable)
Greenwall
Safara (somewhat like Kate Bush going Lovecraft, sadly a very lazy band when it comes to releases)
Lots of great stuff coming out of Italy these days, including new music from some classic prog acts. Case in point, Alphataurus' recent album 'AttosecondO'.
