    Michael Giles - Progress (1978)

Great album that was recorded and shelved at the time, released on CD many years later.

At http://www.universzero.dk/news.htm it says: This is a French Atem pressing from 1982.

I haven't compared yet. I have both Atem (vinyl), Cryonic (vinyl) and the Cuneiform CD, and have heard the CD immidiately before the new 1313vinyl, and this vinyl sounded more interesting / detailed / alive, slightly different balance.

But that difference could easily be a comparison of turntable versus CD-player. Allthough my CD-player cost 3 times more than the turntable.

I like the remix CD a lot. I just have the original 1313 cd to compare it to.
I have a 50/50 love/ hate with the remix for Heresie.
The bass is too low and doesn't have the presence it once had, but the rest of it is good.

The 1313-CD isn't bad at all (and has a long bonus), I just liked the new 1313-vinyl more. Even my wife noticed and said there are more details on the vinyl. Not sure it its completely the case, but there are differences. Maybe its just taste...I prefered the vinyl, more engaging.

Haven't compared Heresie-vinyl with HeresieCD. Maybe I should...

I think the remixed first album is revelatory (especially for Roger's guitar contributions) over-all, and I had / have no quibbles at all, and the remixed Heresie was very good in some ways and severely problematic in other ways.

    excellent!!

    1313 remix is great

the sound of the guitar is crystalline

drums are louder (obviously), but not too high and everything else is great, but guitar is sharp and nice

Heresie...... side too is ok, but without bass

side one, I would rather not to comment, I did not like

The best mix for me is the one from Cryonic, the bass is HEAVY and the piano is there!

The Anniversary vinyl is the Atem 7001, but with a different cover. I have just checked mine.

We're on the same page then!

I know Guy Segers disliked the Heresie remix a lot.
The bass on Jack the Ripper was neutered

    ^^^^^

    Well.

In 2023 / 2024, I would never have guessed that there would be a new Present and a new Univers Zero album released within six months of each other.

    Life is filled with surprises.

From Renato's post #480 (at the time it was still presented as a DD solo album) -

    DD - drums and keyboards
Nicolas Denis - bass and vocals
    Nicolas Dechêne - guitar
    Kurt Budé - sax, clarinet

So, 3/5ths of the last UZ line-up plus Daniel's son.
