My favourite half dozen, pre-prog, pre-1970 albums.......(cat amongst the pigeons time)....as my definition of a pre-prog (or as some say proto-prog) band is one that was pushing the boundaries of rock out of psych-pop and towards prog but when prog actually broke properly they went off in another direction (e.g. hard rock, contemporary folk, pop) or just carried on playing the same type of music or simply disbanded (e.g. The Nice)
