Quite the duo! (And their bassist, I forget her name, is great.)

It's clear we're not the only ones who love a lot of Japanese music(ians). Keyboard-player/composer Peter Fernandes also knows his stuff and asked a couple of Japanese musicians for his latest album Incline from last year: guitarists Toshi Yanagi and Yuya Komoguchi and bassist Teppei Kawasaki perform in some of the tracks next to the usual suspects like Vinnie Colaiuta, Brandon Fields, Rick Fierabracci and Jimmy Johnson. Here's Emmy, a piece with Richard Hallebeek (no Japanese this time):

I am not sure if this qualifies, but I just saw former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman Saturday night. He is American, but lives in Japan and his band are all Japanese. Apparently the drummer is well-known in Japan. I had never heard of him, but the guy was insane.

Although it's missing in my Mick Karn-collection Marty Friedman's Loudspeaker-album is also full of Japanese musicians plus Karn, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Jens Johansson and Billy Sheehan.

I have "Loudspeaker" and agree it is quite good. He did several tracks from it on Saturday night.

Fun fact: the "A" side of Marty's wonderful 1992 solo album Scenes was produced by Kitaro.

Finally bought this beauty. Great stuff. I've got it from Japan, so it's the Arcāngelo-re-release from 2023 with the bonustrack Vanity. Next to Mellotron-heavy, King Crimson-like the music is sometimes describes as avant-garde, but I think only the end-section of Dark Matter falls into this category.

I also ordered the Arcangelo cardboard sleeve mini just a couple of days ago from CDJapan, but haven't received it yet. I hope that it is as good as the rumour says ;-)

Just noticed on the Arkitekture-facebook-site that the bonustrack Vanity is available as a single track on Bandcamp: https://arkitekture2022.bandcamp.com/track/vanity

The Merry-Go-Round-version is also on Bandcamp, but without this bonus: https://arkitekture2022.bandcamp.com...onalis-impetus

Yeah, noticed that when I visited their website some time ago: https://kumorigahara.net/

Kazumigahara DVD "2023 SPRNG TOUR FINAL-" will be released !!
The first one-man live in Kazumigahara held in April this year is already available on DVD! The powerful stage filled with Akihabara CLUB GOODMAN brought in equipment is recorded with multi-mixing professional shots, and the atmosphere of the day of the live is packaged as it is. A must-have item that will allow you to fully enjoy the band's current culmination stage! Prior to the release in September, pre-sale will be held at the tour venue!! We will update
    this information as needed.

^Cool, just wonder how to get it. Any idea? The website says it is only being sold at live shows, so what is a chance they will have some in US?

You can easily order all Kumorigahara products, including the forthcoming DVD, here: https://diskunion.net/progre/ct/list/0/80733616

They mail internationally and the prices are reasonable (I have done it with great success).

Thanks for the tip. I am actually familiar with this website but never bought from them. Seems it is a different DVD/concert from what I saw on the band's website and double the length at that. Still, the price with shipping is pretty steep.

Have you used the worldwide shipping cart that shows up when you try to order from US, like it did for me? They seem to be rip off artists that charge arm and leg for shipping so it ends up double the cost of the items ordered. Not sure if I could skip it though so, if this is the case, this is the last time I have ordered anything from Disk Union

Anybody here hip to Tricot? I've been digging them for a few years now and the newest album is great imo. I guess file them under math rock perhaps? I dunno. This was one of the first things I saw/heard from about 2018...
