I just discovered the different options under the Display dropdown (top right). Very useful! You can choose to see a threaded view of the threads (where you see a post hierarchy), a standard view, or a hybrid view where you have the regular view with a threaded window at the top. While this might seem awkward, I have a feeling it will work best for me.
