I am trying to get my wife to this show as she never experienced the joys of a Magic Room concert prior to that venue's demise, hoping ARCH is similar. See you at IZZ!

    Here's my spring concert agenda:

    May 17 & 18th - FIMAV, Victoriaville
    Gord Grdina's Haram
    Fred Frith & Evan Parker
    Ken Vandermark's Audio One
Keiji Haino / Stephen O'Malley / Oren Ambarchi
    Colin Stetson & Sarah Neufeld
    Evan Parker Septet
    Pierre Labbe & Michel Faubert
    Fred Frith's Gravity Band

May 19th - Next Music From Tokyo, Montreal
    Kinoko Teikoku
    Happy! Mari
    Uchu Conbini
    Jizue
    Nayuta

June 11th-15th - Vision Festival, Brooklyn
A whole bunch of people including Charles Gayle, Jemeel Moondoc, Peter Brotzmann, Kidd Jordan, Satoko Fujii, William Parker, Hamid Drake, Nicole Mitchell, Mary Halvorson, and many more.

June 20th-30th - Ottawa Jazz Festival
A whole bunch more people including Mike Pride's From Bacteria To Boys, Harris Eisenstadt, Jason Adasiewicz, Colin Stetson & Hamid Drake, Steve Martin, Bill Frisell, Rudresh Mahanthapaa, Flat Earth Society, Norma Winstone, Aretha Franklin, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Bushman's Revenge, and probably many more.

Had hoped to squeeze in another road trip for Acid Mothers Temple in Toronto, but with FIMAV and Vision Festival so close together it wasn't meant to be this year. No clue for what's coming in July and beyond. Possibly return visits to the Chicago and/or Guelph Jazz Festivals but would need to see the lineups first. And Neutral Milk Hotel are coming to town in September; I'll probably go see them.

Saw the Chicago Pre-Broadway World Premiere of "The Last Ship", with music & lyrics by Sting last week. Was superb (both the music and the script). Found out while we were there that both Sting & Paul Simon were "in the house", but nary a glimpse for us.

Have tickets for 3 concerts that are all here in Madison, which is very rare. Usually Kay & I are off to Milwaukee or Chicago if there's something to lure us, but getting too old to go to everything I'd go to if I were 50, but I'm 20 years older than that.

In July it's Yes, in August Steely Dan, and in September Crim. My local musician friends are even trying to reschedule/cancel booked gigs so they can spectate.

Didn't list it because I'm still waiting to find out about the timing of Funda's family visiting from afar before committing & buying tix & plane tix.

Plus the fact that I'm of necessity scaling back. I'm gonna rewrite Chicago's lyrics and make it "Feeling Older Every Day".

All that said, I'm still hoping to go.

The summer is a little sparce... Just
July 10 - Procol Harum and Dave Mason's Traffic Jam, Ottawa Bluesfest

Things get really interesting in the fall...
I have a September trip to the UK which should be really great.
Kate Bush in London, and an interesting concert in Sept 21 with Tony Visconti, Woody Woodmansey and others performing Bowie's Man Who Sold the World at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London and Hawkwind in Exeter. If they can't get their s**t together to come here, we will go to them.
    Should be a great week.
Also Nik Turner in Montreal mid Sept as well as the Strawbs in October in Montreal as well.
Lastly Steve Hackett in Gatineau Nov 30 and Adrien Belew Dec 14th also in Gatineau.
