Have tickets for 3 concerts that are all here in Madison, which is very rare. Usually Kay & I are off to Milwaukee or Chicago if there's something to lure us, but getting too old to go to everything I'd go to if I were 50, but I'm 20 years older than that.

In July it's Yes, in August Steely Dan, and in September Crim. My local musician friends are even trying to reschedule/cancel booked gigs so they can spectate.
We were (happily) shocked at the Crimson date. It is really great to catch them and Yes in town instead of Milwaukee or Chicago.

We are going to see Ian Anderson in Milwaukee, as well.

Just landed tickets to see Stevie Wonder Nov 16 At Wells Fargo in Philly. Hate big building shows but now way I can pass this up. Last time I saw him was 86. Also, he is known to secretly practice in the town I live in so we are going to keep an eye out near the facility and hope to catch him.

The Ottawa Concert Calendar is usually pretty barren in the winter but the next month or so looks really busy:

Fri Feb 6th - Charlie Hunter Trio with Bobby Previte & Curtis Fowlkes
    Sat Feb 7th - Fet.Nat (local avant/prog/skronk)
    Sat Feb 7th - Jean-Michel Pilc Trio
Sat Feb 7th - Matt Wilson Quartet
Sat Feb 7th - Peter Evans (solo) & Linsey Wellman (solo)
Fri Feb 13th - Roddy Elias Septet Plays Kenny Wheeler
    Fri Feb 13th - Esmerine
Thu Feb 26th - Craig Pedersen / Joe Morris / Mark Molnar
Sat Feb 28th - Rake-Star Arkestra Plays Sun Ra
Sun Mar 8th - Nick Fraser Quartet with Tony Malaby

I expect to be at all of these except for having to choose between Matt Wilson and Peter Evans at the same time.

I will be curious what you think of Howlin Rain. They are a band I discovered through Classic Rock magazine. Picked up their live album from last year and absolutely love it. “The Russian Wilds” is also a great studio album. They have never played my area that I am aware of.

I've seen Howlin Rain 3 times. They are fantastic live. I've been a fan since their first album.

I just got their new one "Mansion Songs" today. Quite a bit different than Russian Wilds. Much more in a The Band or Neil Young vein. A bit more twang to it. Very acoustic based as well.

Just landed tickets for Rush @ Wells Fargo Center in Philly. I hate the big buildings but this is one of those exceptions.

Mulling over Townsend/Daltrey in Chicago. Daltrey, post-throat surgery, has greatly resurrected his range & breath control which piques my interest.

Nothing coming up too soon. Too broke these days to see anyone noteworthy. Hoping to catch the Musical Box in San Francisco next month, but no guarantees.
