    Gift for relative

Craft beer basket: 12 craft beers instead of cookies, fruit or beef logs. I made this for my bil. The beers:

Fegley's Brewworks Rude Elf Reserve Belgian Style ale
Founder's Brewing Company Dirty Bastard Scottish Style ale
    Elysian Bete Blanche Tripel ale
    Newcastle Werewolf Blood Red ale
    Brewery Ommegang Ommegang Abbey ale
House of Shandy Tenacious Traveler ale brewed with lemon peel
    Troeg's Triegenator Doublebock beer
    Dixie Blackened VooDoo lager
    Troeg's Dream Weaver wheat beer
Magic Hat Heart of Darkness stout
Blue Point Brewing Company Hoptical Illusion IPA
Left Hand Brewing Company Fade to Black ale

    is this a good selection?

Your my cousin, right. Haven't heard of any of them but send them right over and I'll be sure to send back a review!

I was buying the bamboo bowl I put these into at Boscovs and I told the sales clerk what I was doing. This guy says "Can I be your brother in law?"

My brother in law got it when my parents visited. He called it a "Smorgasbord of beer"...

Apparently the world's best (say a US writer) but most uncommercial breweres, the Belgian abbey Westvleeteren have released a six bottle pack (&5 000 of them) for $93.00 each acrossd the US... may sound expensive (but this is to repair the abbey's roof), but it's probably the only chance you'll get to taste their stuff, unless you ring at the abbey on wednesday morning (5AM)... they don't sell any other way
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

This is a beautiful gift! I'd love to try that Hoptical Illusion IPA, plus a few more. Yum.

I read about that Belgian beer earlier in the wekk. I figured someone would probably start a thread about it, or least mention it. I'd be interested in trying it just to see what kind of buzz I'd get from it.

Everyone should operate under the premise that their time and attention is the greatest gift possible

I think the special offer is over... it was all gone in one day... In Belgium, the 60 000 packs were gone by 11AM of the single day sale

The thing is that these trappist monks only brew to meet their everyday needs .... which are rather few, since all they do outside brewing is pray >> their abbey is in the middle of the Flanders fields of WW1, surrounded by war cemeteries and memorials

The only reason why they sell these special packs is that some roof needs to be redone...

Nice gift! My band will be playing a Brew Fest February 9 at The Bistro in Hayward, Ca. in the afternoon. Playing Allman Bros. and drinking beer, got to love it.

Thanks! He did. In fact, I think he had it as the centerpiece on their table. I ought to recreate it but only with one six pack next year for the holiday party.

Looks good, Jen. Some intriguing names. Only one I've tried is Newcastle Werewolf, because I can get it for $4 a sixpack. Has some rye in it. Maybe I'll go get some more when it stops snowing.

Here's a good death-themed ale for next time you assemble a gift collection
