Thread: A New Chick from Texas!

    A New Chick from Texas!

Just a little note from me to you - saying hello for the first time and wishing you a wonderful day. I'm new to this forum although a prog lover all my life. I got my first progressive rock albums at 11yrs old when my gma died and I took it home with me from her house - it was Kansas. From there on I always believed music should be more thoughtful and intelligent than what I was subjected to as a teenager listening to the radio. I'm thrilled to know there's so many like us!

I have the humbling privilege of hosting a radio show from my home in Texas and look forward to getting to know you and learning from you as I'm simply Discovering Prog (in High Heels). I was referred here by Ian Beabout, my prog mentor and idol.

Can't wait to not just glean but add to these lovely topics.
    *HUGS*

Welcome, you will find lots of Kansas fans here. They are the band that got me into prog way back in the day.

Are you the one that was prophesied to arrive in 2014? As was written in the ancient scrolls?

Welcome to PE Jennifer. Just curious as to what Kansas album it was. My grandmother was a bit of a rock n roller also. She liked Pink Floyd and she liked the King Crimson and Genesis I played her. She didn't like YES I think because of Jon's voice. Oh well. You can't win them all. Again welcome to PE. Don't let the testosterone fueled threads prevent you from enjoying this place. There are several other fine female prog fans here and in fact they even have their own special group which you should feel free to join if you are inclined to do so.

My Mom had a copy of Point of Know Return, and I never really knew why. But I'm sure it helped me somehow. She does have good taste in music, although I don't think she was ever actually into Kansas.

Anyway, welcome to PE! It's definitely a good resource - don't worry about how often you post, etc. Use is as needed.

Welcome to PE, fellow prog DJ! This is a great resource, full of wonderful, like-minded people (well, most of the time we're like-minded).

Welcome Jennifer! No doubt those high heel shoes of yours are Epic! Do they cause you to walk in shifting time signatures?

Enjoy the PE ride. I look forward to reading your contributions.

Don (from the great white North! - though in Victoria, we've seen only a trace of snow this winter, and that was slushy, less than half an inch, and disappeared in under a day).

    Hi.
    For that which is not,
there is no coming into being
    and for that which is,
    there is no ceasing to be;
yea of both of these the lookers into truth have seen an end.

When I see a female member join, start a thread like this and not return to it, I immediately think someone's playing a joke on us.But I believe Jen is for real. Welcome aboard!
