For me the conversation has to start with Sir Paul! Sting, Tim Schmit, Lake, Wetton, Bruce, Waters... Chris Squire, love his voice and always felt short changed he never followed up Fish out of Water. Richard Sinclair
Music isn't about chops, or even about talent - it's about sound and the way that sound communicates to people. Mike Keneally

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

[QUOTE=Progbear;227181]Useful for completeness, though. Lothar Meid is probably not "good" at singing, but that was never really the point of ADII anyway.
-so true -infact Danny Fichelsher on his one track probably sounds the best of the lot of them

Yes, Mogroves had it first!! I added a video for some easy proof of what a great singer he was/is. In this Place is also a great tune that he just blows out of the water. I always felt that playing bass and singing at the same time was more difficult for me than guitar or keyboard, and I am most comfortable playing bass. Finger plucking and singing is not as intuitive to me. The guy playing slap on that Level 42 video in this thread is impressive, although not my style. Jack Bruce was just an animal. Sting also makes it look easy.
Unless I missed it in someone else's list, John Lodge.
My top list of singers have always been
Wetton
Lake
Robert Lamm - damn keyboardist
John Lodge
I could listen to any of those 4 sing the dictionary or phone book and enjoy it.
I did not see John Lodge?
My personal favorite singers of all time have been:
Wetton
Lake
Robert Lamm - damn keyboardist
John Lodge
They could sing the phone book or the dictionary and i would enjoy it.

Okay, maybe not!
Guess I killed this thread with my splendid voice!
Thanks for not makin' fun, though.......it's true, my nuts probably hadn't dropped yet.

Agreed. Well, I liked Renate fine, and Stefan was a decent singer even if his Bay City Rollers-wannabee stuff was highly inappropriate for ADII. But Danny's vox on "Sleepwalker's Timeless Bridge" makes me wish he stepped behind the mike more often. Too tough for a drummer? In Popol Vuh he played mainly guitar, but they had that twee little Korean song sparrow.
