Thanks for this as I was just inquiring about active Spanish bands on another thread. Seems Spain has a rich presence in prog.

I may be moving to Spain soon so I’d like to get a feel for current bands there *with vocals.* And the more they bring to mind Hackett-era Genesis, KC, VDGG, Floyd and Banco, the better.

I believe Kotebel and October Equus are fully instrumental.

Kotebel had a soprano vocalist on Omphalos.

Since posting on here 8 years ago I've discovered three more interesting bands that I really enjoy.
Rivendel's last two albums scratch an itch but the two psychedelic bands Pyramidal and Atavismo are incredible to say the least.

I just listened to a pretty obscure but really excellent one called Hoc by Franc Albir (that's the band's name not a guy). If you like symph prog or somewhat mellow stuff (although it definitely has it's moments) this one is pretty great. The singing is in Catalan but a good amount of this is instrumental (I'd say at least 50 percent). It's on bandcamp too. I also like a band called Daymoon.

Second soloalbum from Jaume de Viala is called Calidoscopi Embruixat.
This guitarist/composer played in the late 70s in the band Celobert Màgic that failed to record in the studio. De Viala recorded compositions of that band on his first album Sonoritat De Mil Miralls. On his second album he digs even deeper and recorded compositions from before that period. Helping him are members of the MoonJune Records-label, Iceberg and Música Urbana. He calls his music Catalan progressive Ethno-Fusion.
