    The Monkees - Good Times!
new release date of May 27th (in multiple formats/versions/tracklists, lol...Rhino-milking the hardcore fans like my fiancee)

1st single/video written by Rivers Cuomo is up "She Makes Me Laugh" sounds rather retro:

Not a "new" release but Aragon have just re-released their 1990 debut album "Don't Bring The Rain" as a free download on Bandcamp.

This reminds me more of my favorite band Senogul, who I haven't heard since this last release.
    Are they still together?

    Maglev: "Overwrite The Sin"

Known for his work with Sebas Honing and a lot of non-progressive rockbands, this is the first CD in the progressive rock-genre by bass-player, singer, multi-instrumentalist Joost Maglev.
The music is in the vein of Valentia, but a lot more epic. Influences of Kate Bush, Queen, Yes and Vienna can also be heard, as this clip shows:

I often see 1990 as the original release date for this but it was actually originally released(probably a small pressing)in 87 or 88. Progarchives has it listed as 87 and discogs has it as 88. Regardless, it's one of the unsung classics of neo prog imo.

salva-sigh of boreas. 4th album from this Swedish band that has a folky touch to their prog.
song number 3 from the album here.

You are right. I dug out my vinyl copy and it was released in 1988. My CD is 1990 and has 3 more tracks.

Interesting. I'll keep an eye out for this. I have A Floating Place which to to me is decent. Not earth shattering but enjoyable. Good enough to check out a second effort though, so thanks for the heads-up.

From one of the most underrated prog bands - the new album from Pineapple Thief is due in August and a single has just been posted. Great lyrics and this song really warms up especially towards the end. I hope the album is as good as this single.
