"Just know that even if we listen to the same bands, I listen to them BETTER than you" - Gene Meyer
All that being said, I am seriously grateful for the "View First Unread [in Thread]" button in this forum. Saves me a lot of time.
What we feel we have to solve is why the dregs have not dissolved.
I have not heard Bill Bressler before but he has a new album out - A Second Past (so far available on the streaming services - I'm listening on Amazon Music).
Neo/sympho. Tuneful. Pleasant. Good playing. Singing is decent. Fun. I don't think it's breaking any new ground nor are any new chords or keys being invented, but it's good while I'm listening so there's that.

The new Vesilinja album is out now:
I especially like the 22+ minute title track. They are now using Mellotron on this album, which adds a lot to the music.

I released my first album in 5 years last week. A Sci-Fi Prog Rock Opera called A Second Past. As someone said earlier, it's good while you're listening, so there's that! It also just got a banger of a review from Sonic Perspectives here: https://www.sonicperspectives.com/al...a-second-past/ and you can find it streaming and downloadable from Bandcamp here: https://billbressler.bandcamp.com/album/a-second-past
I've been getting amazing feedback from the Prog community and I hope you enjoy it too. It's got some great special guests as well, including Peter Jones from Camel and Tiger Moth Tales, Jacob-Holm Lupo from White Willow, Donner and Sostein (who also mastered the album), and Stian Larsen, also from Solstein. I'm from Solstein too!
I think he means the little button (blue circle with two white check marks inside it) on the left of the thread title>> that will take you to where you left off last time you read the thread), while the blue square with two arrows on the extreme right will lead you to the last post posted
If you clicjk onto the blue circle of a thread you've not opened before, it'll take you to the OP Next btime you do, it will lead you to the first unread post in that thread

Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius - Imposter!
I put it in the modern sympho category and I like it for that reason. Reminds me of Spock's Beard a bit. Tuneful. Lots of melodies. One of those things that some site calls "Crossover Prog" which is to me a lazy category. Listening now and I like what I hear. Includes a faithful cover of Crimso's "Frame By Frame".

Thanks -I found it and once clicked on it changes from just a circle to actually reading 'View First Unread', but only only my windows PC. On my Android tablet it dosen't appear at all, and annoyingly all threads open at the very first post. So if I click on New releases for example it opens right back at the first post in 2014. Is there any way round this?
No, I actually meant the line of prompts at the top of the screen, like this:
View First Unread
Thread Tools
Search Thread
Rate This Thread
Display
If you've read the whole thread already, the "View First Unread" won't appear. If it does appear, it will be in blue.
This might be different on a mobile phone.

The Madrigal Project - 11th Hour
Kevin Dodson of the band Madrigal with his new album. Serious stuff which I like. In other words, no jokey songs or cutesy stuff.
Here's the link to the Bandcamp page because it seems to be embedding oddly.

Heads up on this one that I got a pre-order notice for this morning. It will release in early December. Really good Spanish Prog with a strong retro vibe, but with a fresh and musically diverse attitude.
The album is Un manual de signos y síntomas by Vientos Moderados del Este. I pre-ordered the CD today after a listen to the tracks on Bandcamp: https://astronomyrecordingmusic.band...nos-y-s-ntomas

I played keys on Hamada and Oriental Folk Song. And if you enjoy the synth work on those, you will definitely enjoy A Second Past!
A new release by Disen Gage, this time of a live concert performed in 2017 and available in full on Youtube. It's superbly recorded and a great performance. Very intricate guitar based instrumentals, I think it would appeal to King Crimson fans, particularly those who don't like the vocals.

I wouldn't mind hearing Magick Brother & Mystic Sister do some Doors covers.
