Yes, 2 EPs. Axiom is the new name for Slag Tanz.

Silliness. I hope they are at least cheaper as EPs.

Which EP is "Sonneries" 1 & 2 going be on? (He asks as he hopes they won't be spilt among both of them.....)

From next month to september 2015, all Magma albums will be re-released on vinyl (with a bonus for Merci).
Slag Tanz will be released in january.
Konzert Zünd, a 12-CD live set (two of them hitherto unreleased) will appear in november 2015.

  4. #54
Yep, saw this. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I am going to want those 2 unreleased concerts. I want them bad! [Apparently, Merci will include a Magma song from the Enneade disc].

That would be You, which apparently is the one and only Magma recording that Christian doesn't either play or sing on. If you've seen the Bobino 81 DVD, there's a version of it on there, in case you've never heard it.

I just bought a copy of Merci, finally, at ProgDay, for 10 bucks, so I'm not too anxious to buy anything else in regards to that album. But that concert boxset sounds like it might be interesting. I'll have to save up my money.

Boo a delay on ST. Is Riah Sahiltaahk still planning on being released separately and/or before January?

Any details on the live box? Is it all the usual stuff (Hhai, Retro..., etc) + two unreleased concerts or does it delve into more obscure releases?

Riah Sahiltaahk, the "orchestra & choir" studio version, is released on monday. The live box will probably be Hhai Live + Retrospektiw + Theusz Hamtaak trilogy at Le Trianon (that's 8 CDs). I guess the bonus 2CDs will be a 1974 concert (possibly Chaumont or Le Gibus).

I am listening to the original of Riah and can't imagine the new version being better, but it's an auto buy when Wayside gets it...so is the live box set...to go next to my studio box.
I hope the liner notes are as good as the last box.

  9. #59
Yeah, autobuy for me as well. Steve, y' hear that? :-)

I've heard the Chaumont concert, and it is pretty titanic. I would love to hear it cleaned up. I have not heard le Gibus, to my knowledge.

Yes, I hear you. Thank you.

And yes, we will have them.

However: The new releases will not be released on Seventh. The new releases are being released on Harmonia Mundi (big French label). We will get them and we will have them at a decent price, but they are being released in the USA at a different (later) date than in France. I'm not importing the French copies, because they will cost significantly more than the US versions. So, at this point the dates of our getting them look like this:

    11/11 - Riah Sahiltaahk
    12/9 - Axiom

    OK?

    Thanks.

Oh, so Axiom will be released in 2014? I read somewhere that it would be early 2015. No matter ... I'll put aside the cash for it now. Thanks Steve!

The Slag Tanz release date of "eventually" still holds...

    Very good, thanks, Steve.

I am sort of confused as to why these would come out on HM as opposed to 7th, but I suppose it must be some sort of licensing agreement. Well, no matter, still autobuy, in November and December. Interested to see how Axiom has mutated over time...

^^^ Harmonia Mundi is a highly respected classical label. My classical music obsessive aunt had hundreds of discs on that label. Let's hope it gets Vander some attention from the classical world. He deserves it!

I have 1001 centigrades, Tristan, and Inedits on HM, and the two first sounds much better than the LP (this could also be of other reasons)

I'd guess the label change has something to do with wider distribution, which is a good thing.

  19. #69
I would assume that as well. HM has better distribution pathways than Seventh will.

Honestly, if I had to guess (and YES, I am just guessing), they are old enough that they don't want to be doing this any more and gave it to someone else to do.

    Wait...it's that Harmonia Mundi???

    Wow.

Well, they're a great label that puts out great sounding CDs. Nothing to get upset about for this Magma fan.

I have a big problem with this.

No, not with the release dates.

But because this isn't on Seventh, the spines aren't going to match the spines of all my other Magma CDs. You know, the ones that make my CD collection look considerably more evil. Harmonia Mundi is a CLASSICAL label? I'll be lucky if they aren't pink. This is terrible.
